Hadar is made by Team Hadar at Geist Labs LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Hadar app for Android. The web version of Hadar has its own policy.
The short version:
- We can't tell who you are. Hadar has no account and no sign-in, and never asks for your name or email address.
- Hadar keeps nothing about you. What you enter stays on your phone. Documents you paste are read and thrown away.
- Ads appear only when you choose to watch one, and they come from Google.
- $4.99 / month removes the ads.
1. We can't tell who you are
Hadar has no sign-up, no login, no password and no email address on file. There is no user record on our systems to look you up in, because we never made one. If we don't store it, we can't lose it, sell it, or be made to hand it over.
2. What stays on your phone
These are kept only in Hadar's storage on your phone. We never receive them:
- your pilot profile — name, employee number, base, fleet, seat, pay status
- your logbook
- your schedule, trips and bid scenarios
- any seniority list you add, and every result worked out from it
- FAR 117 and reserve calculations
- your settings and backup files
Uninstalling Hadar deletes all of it. Android's own automatic backup may copy some of it to your personal Google account; that is between you and Google.
3. What passes through our server, and is thrown away
- Documents you paste or upload — timecards, Pay Activity Statements, rotations, bid packages — are sent to our server to be read, because the pay rules are too large to live inside the app. They are held in memory for the seconds it takes, never written to a disk, a database or a log, and discarded once the answer is sent back.
- When Hadar can't read something, it tells us only the shape of the problem — which section, which pattern didn't match — never the content. If a rotation has a flight marker Hadar has never seen, Hadar shows you that one line and asks before sending it. Your app version, phone model and Android version travel with these reports so we can tell which build or phone has the problem.
- Restoring a backup sends us only the small locked key at the top of your backup file, never the backup itself. Backup files are scrambled, and only our server can unlock that key; it sends it straight back so your phone can open the file, and keeps nothing. To stop misuse, the random number Hadar made when it was installed travels with the request and is counted, in memory only, for a day.
- Contact us sends only what you type. Your email address is optional and used only to answer you. The message ends up in our mailbox like any email; ask and we will delete it.
- Hadar also downloads public weather imagery, maps and reference lists. These requests carry nothing about you.
We do not log IP addresses and we do not keep request logs that would tie activity back to a device or a person. Traffic is encrypted in transit.
4. Location and calendar — only if you turn them on, and never to us
- Drive time to the airport is off until you turn it on, and works only while Hadar is open. Your location goes from your phone straight to the routing service you choose, using your own key. It is never sent to us.
- Calendar sync writes your trips into your phone's calendar. Our server is never involved.
5. Ads
- Hadar never shows an ad on its own. On some screens you can choose to watch a short ad, which opens that screen for an hour.
- Ads are provided by Google AdMob, and Google's ad service only starts after you tap to watch one.
- While an ad is shown, Google collects information from your phone — such as its advertising ID and IP address — and may use it to choose and personalise ads. We don't receive it. See what Google collects and how it is used.
- You can turn off personalised ads at My Ad Center, or reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
- To confirm the ad finished, Google tells our server using a random number Hadar made when it was installed. That number says nothing about who you are, and our record of the unlock is deleted when the hour ends.
- In the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent before showing an ad, and you can change your answer at any time.
6. Removing ads — $4.99 / month
That is the US price; Google Play shows the price for your own country before you buy. The subscription is handled by Google Play. We never see your name, your card or your Google account; Google tells us only whether your subscription is active.
7. No analytics, no tracking by us
Hadar has no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no usage tracking of its own. Nobody here measures which screens you open or how long you stay. The only outside services that run inside Hadar are Google's ads, after you choose one, and Google Play's billing service, which checks with the Play Store on your phone whether you subscribe and shows Google's payment screen if you do.
8. If you are in Europe or the UK
- Why we handle what we do: documents you paste are read because you asked for the answer; fault reports are kept because fixing the reader is in everyone's interest; ads are shown only with your consent.
- Google may handle ad information outside your country, under its own safeguards.
- You can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of anything we hold about you, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Deleting your data
Uninstall Hadar, or clear its data in Android's settings. That is genuinely all of it — except an email you sent us, which we will delete if you ask. If a privacy law gives you rights of access, correction or deletion, write to us and we will answer; usually the honest answer is that we hold nothing about you.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your phone, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
